The presentation will discuss the normal thoughts and feelings that we experience as we navigate through life changes and organizational change (transitions). We will look at the management and leadership actions and styles that have been found to be effective when employed during transitional periods and the organizational changes that can follow. The presentation will end with a brief discussion on tools and actions for future career development considerations.

 

Dr. Richard Parsells is best known for his research in the area of managing transitional periods and organizational change.  He spent over 25 years in roles in operational management and executive level leadership in the corporate arena, before transitioning to the higher education field.

Richard served as an Associate Professor at St. Edwards University in Austin, TX. for 12 years, where he taught skills and strategies to manage change and chaos.  He holds a PHD in Adult, Professional, and Community Education from Texas State University in San Marcos, TX., and earned an MPA and an MBA from the University of Dayton in Ohio.

Dr. Parsells recently retired and currently lives in Austin Texas with “Pepper” his loyal and loving four- legged companion of over 9 years.
